Hendry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida. Its county seat is La Belle, Florida. Hendry County was created in 1923 and was named for Major Francis A. Hendry, one of the first settlers. Hendry County has a total area of approximately 1,190 square miles of which 97% is land and 3% water.
